Albion Women Head Coach Siobhan Hodgetts-Still believes her side need to “be better in both boxes” following their 2-0 defeat to Hull City on Sunday.
The Baggies were stung by two first-half strikes from the visitors and couldn’t muster a reply despite creating opportunities in the second period.
Hodgetts-Still says the quality at both ends of the field allowed the Tigresses to take all three points from the FA WNL Northern Premier encounter.
“We asked for a better performance than last week and the girls did that,” she said. “I thought we were better both in and out of possession.
“I thought first half, we just gifted them two goals. We didn't defend well and we found ourselves 2-0 down at the break.
“I think if we were to reflect and look at the game now, we need to be better at taking our chances and being more clinical. Today we got in some really good areas, but it was that final ball or the decision in and around the box that let us down.
“Credit to Hull. I thought they defended their box brilliantly. They were winning headers and they got across markers and made it really difficult for us to break them down.
“It gives us something to go back to training and work on.”
Midfielder Liv Rabjohn agrees and believes that there were some positives to take from the 90 minutes.
She said: “As a collective, we’re really disappointed. We dominated the majority of the game, and I think they were in our box twice, and they scored twice.
“It’s just about ensuring we’re working for each other and fixing those small moments really. We were solid building out from the back today and when we were linking together, it was going well.
“We had a strong performance, but a bad result. It’s about taking the performance into next week and making sure we get those goals. We need to fix those small aspects to ensure we can get those results.”
