Albion defender Torbjørn Heggem came off the bench to make his first international appearance for Norway during their Nations League match against Austria on Sunday evening.
The 25-year-old had not previously featured for his nation at any age group level, and was introduced in the 79th minute of the clash in Linz.
Alexander Sørloth had drawn Norway level ahead of half-time after Marco Arnautović netted an early opener for the hosts, before a second-half quadruple from the Austrian's earned them a 5-1 victory.
Elsewhere, Mikey Johnston and Jayson Molumby both featured for the Republic of Ireland in their 2-0 defeat to Greece.
Molumby came on in the 72nd minute, with Johnston following him shortly after - but neither could turn the tide as the hosts earned the spoils thanks to two second-half strikes.
