Albion defender Torbjørn Heggem came off the bench to help guide Norway to promotion to the top tier of the Nations League, virtue of their 5-0 victory over Kazakhstan.

The summer signing was introduced in the 63rd minute, with his nation 3-0 ahead thanks to an Erling Haaland brace and Alexander Sørloth strike.

Following his entry to the action, there was time for the Manchester City striker to seal his hat trick, before Antonio Nusa rounded off a clinical evening for the Scandinavians.

That result promotes Norway to the top tier of the Nations League, joining heavyweight nations across Europe in the next rendition of the competition.

Elsewhere, Jayson Molumby played the entirety of the Republic of Ireland's 5-0 defeat to England, with Mikey Johnston an unused substitute.

After managing to frustrate the Three Lions during the first 45, a Liam Scales red card helped Harry Kane net the opener from the penalty spot, before goals from Anthony Gordon, Conor Gallagher, Jarrod Bowen and Taylor Harwood-Bellis ensured victory for England.

That result ensured the hosts promotion to the top flight of the Nations League, whilst the Republic of Ireland finished third, with six points.

Across the Atlantic, Mason Holgate will be hoping to see Jamaica overturn their 1-0 quarter-final first leg result against the USA in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Holgate will not be able to feature in the second leg fixture in St Louis, having been sent off in the first leg tie after picking up two yellow cards.
