It was a patient road to recovery for reliable full-back Townsend after he suffered a knee injury during Albion’s first Premier League win of the campaign against Sheffield United back in November.
But with the help of fellow defender and northerner Kyle Bartley in the treatment room, as well as the prospect of maintaining the Baggies’ top-flight status on the line, the 27-year-old has re-established himself on the left side of Sam Allardyce’s defence since returning in February.
In his exclusive feature, Townsend reveals his admiration for the club’s Foundation efforts during recent challenging times, the easy decision to extend his stay at The Hawthorns and, most importantly, the desire to put an important run of results together as they look to climb the Premier League table.
The Foundation’s exceptional milestone of 100,000 hot meals delivered also features in our roundup, which includes all the regular features as we go back through The Hawthorns archives to re-live some iconic moments.
And the exclusives don’t stop there as Sunday’s programme for the Newcastle game is also available to order, with energetic Arsenal loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles taking centre stage ahead of the vital game.
