Albion Under-18s missed out on qualifying for the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup following defeat to Reading on Saturday afternoon at their Walsall training base.

Three first-half goals from the visitors set the tone for the clash, as efforts from Emmanuel Osho, Kiyan Coke-Miles-Smith and Jerae Jones put the Royals in a commanding position at the halfway mark.

A fourth from Verrell George in the 63rd minute sealed their passage to the next phase of the competition, despite Adam Okorodudu adding a late consolation for the young Baggies in stoppage time.

Leigh Downing's team will have a chance to get their revenge when the same fixture is played in the U18 Premier League South on Saturday, November 30 (ko 12pm).
