Albion’s adventure in the U18 Premier League Cup came to an end at the quarter-final stage on Saturday morning at the hands of the Addicks.
The visitors secured a spot in the last four thanks to a 4-2 win over Leigh Downing’s group at the Baggies’ Walsall training base.
Charlton raced into an early lead but Layton Love added another to his tally soon after, finishing from inside the area following a mistake at the back.
Albion fell behind once again seven minutes before the break when a Charlton man successfully dispatched a spot-kick.
Downing’s side then hit back for a second time right on the stroke of half-time, with Adriel Walker converting an Akeel Higgins cross.
The young Baggies were unable to find their feet after the restart though and Charlton took control of the tie, scoring twice to seal a semi-final ticket.
