Young midfielder Cole Deeming continued his return from injury by playing and scoring for Albion Under-18s during their 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Tuesday afternoon.

Having played 24 minutes off the bench during last Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, Deeming stepped up his recovery by playing 50 minutes at the West Bromwich Albion Training Ground - giving his team the lead at the halfway mark after guiding a left-footed finish into the bottom corner.

It could've been even better for the Black Country hopefuls, but forward Divine Onyemachi was unable to convert an early spot-kick.

Unfortunately, Leigh Downing's men couldn't hold onto their advantage after Teddie Bloomfield levelled 14 minutes into the second half.

The visitors did plenty of pushing in pursuit of a winning goal but, ultimately, couldn't find a second as both sides claimed a point from the contest - meaning the young Baggies ended a four-game successive losing run in the U18 Premier League South.

Albion 18s next play Norwich City away on Saturday, April 19 (ko 11am).

Albion: Brady, Abudu, Dupont (McDonald 80), G.Shaw, Letlat, Deeming (Cherchi 50), Colesby, French, Maughan, Onyemachi, Francis-Caesar (Okorodudu 64).

Substitutes: Moses (GK).
