A strong first-half performance was enough to see Leigh Downing's Under-18s cruise to victory over Brighton at the West Bromwich Albion Training Ground on Saturday afternoon.
Central defender Noah Dupont broke the deadlock on eight minutes - heading home from an Alfie Maughan corner kick, before midfielder Fran Cherchi rounded off an impressive team move with an equally impressive effort from outside the box to double the young Baggies' advantage.
The hosts improved their lead further prior to the half-time whistle and, unsurprisingly, leading talisman Divine Onyemachi was the man to find Albion's third of the contest - picking up a loose ball following Louis Brady's goal kick upfield, driving to the edge of the box, and finding the bottom corner with a left-footed strike.
Game management was needed by Downing's troops after the break and they coped admirably, with help from their shot-stopper Brady, who was required to make several stops to preserve a clean sheet for the Baggies.
Albion 18s will next have the chance to extend their unbeaten run against Fulham on Saturday, February 22 (ko 12pm), once again, at their Walsall HQ.
