Albion's U18 side were defeated 4-3 at Brighton on Saturday in their opening match of the 2023/24 U18 Premier League season.
The young Baggies raced into the lead, scoring after just two minutes through Dan Chimeziri.
Brighton hit back though and scored three times before Divine Onyemachi made it 3-2 with just over 20 minutes remaining.
And Albion's youngsters levelled the encounter in the 73rd minute when Adriel Walker successfully converted a penalty.
However, Leigh Downing's men were hit by a late Brighton strike inside the final five minutes as the hosts took all three points on the opening day.
