Southampton proved to be too strong for Albion’s U18 side down on the south coast on Friday night.
The Saints, who are chasing the title, raced into a two-goal lead inside 13 minutes and went on to score twice more before the interval.
The hosts made it 5-0 in the middle of the second period, but Leigh Downing’s team managed to register a consolation strike with virtually the final kick of the game.
Divine Onyemachi found the back of the net following good work from Miller McDonald.
