This weekend’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Watford has been chosen as Albion’s dedicated Green Football fixture.
Tony Mowbray’s side host the Hornets at The Hawthorns on Saturday, April 12 (ko 3pm), with sustainability the focus away from the pitch.
The main theme is around donating sports kit, because a staggering 100,000 tonnes of it gets thrown away to landfill in the UK each year. That’s the equivalent to around 500 million football shirts.
Club staff have been contributing to Green Football’s Great Save via donations over the last week - and now Baggies supporters can do the same.

Drop-off points will be around the stadium ahead of kick-off on Saturday, where you can donate old sportswear and football kits. The containers can be found at the following locations:
- Fan Zone
- Astle Gates
- Smethwick End Corner (by Halfords Lane)
Head to www.greenfootball.org to let us know you’ve made the Great Save by donating and you’ll be entered into a draw to win prizes - including 12 months’ free Sky Sports and Ultra Boost, tickets to the Sky Bet Championship Play-off Final at Wembley, a signed 2023/24 Lionesses shirt and more.
All donations will be split between The Salvation Army and The Albion Foundation, who will put the items of clothing to good use in the local community, across the UK and on future charitable trips abroad.
By taking part, you'll be helping tackle climate change alongside supporting people who may not otherwise have the kit to be able to play.
