Wolves 5-0 Albion Women

Albion Women.

Albion Women were beaten by local rivals Wolves in the FA WNL Northern Premier Division on Sunday.

The Baggies looked to grab a second successive Black Country derby win, but - after only being one behind at the break - had the wind taken out of their sails by four second half goals from the hosts.

Siobhan Hodgetts-Still's team will aim to bounce back this coming weekend when they host Derby County on Sunday (March 30).

The heach coach made one change to the side that played Burnley, with available-again Ali Miller being restored to the team.

The hosts created the opening chance of the day as Amber Hughes found space behind the Albion back-line, leaving Anna Miller to make a smart stop to her left.

Wolves scored moments later, though. Tammi George bundled home a corner to give them the advantage.

The Baggies carved out opportunities towards the end of the period both through, and for, Rhianne Oakley. The forward skipped past several challenges yet couldn’t find the target in the Wolves penalty area, before then looping an effort into the grateful arms of goalkeeper Bec Thomas.

The hosts took control of the game following the interval, earning all three points via strikes from Amber Hughes, Destiney Toussaint, Becky Anderson and Charlotte Greengrass.
