Bio

Hereford-born Rhys made the move from Edgar Street to begin his journey in an academy environment at The Hawthorns.

Rhys enjoyed plenty of football during his first scholarship year at the Albion, making over 20 appearances across all competitions.

Joining up with the Baggies' scholars in the summer of 2023, Morrish is - as described by 18s boss Leigh Downing - an "old-fashioned" centre-half who throws his body on the line when defending, with the academy staff intent on improving his technical abilities during his time at Albion.

Rhys received his first call-up to the Wales national side in August 2023, and earned his first cap during a Syrenka Cup clash with Romania. It turned out to be the start of a positive year of international exposure for the defender, as Morrish was included in the Dragons' U17 squad for the 2024 European Championship tournament. He started two of their three group matches against Denmark and Croatia respectively.

Having played plenty of football above his age group with Hereford's U18s prior to joining the Baggies, the defender will be confident of developing into a promising centre-half during his time in navy-blue-and-white - having already started plenty of football in Albion's 18s.
