Bio
Johnston returned to the Baggies in August 2024 on a permanent basis.
Mikey signed a four-year deal at The Hawthorns and came back to Albion following an influential loan spell in B71 during the second half of the 23/24 campaign, where he played 20 times, scored seven goals, and provided two assists.
Carlos Corberán was able to see Mikey return on deadline day 2024 which, similarly, was how he joined the club on loan from Celtic during his previous transfer.
The attacker made 93 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish champions - a club he'd been at since the age of nine - scoring 13 goals and supplying 12 assists. There was plenty of success for Mikey during his time at Celtic Park too. He was part of the squad which won six Scottish Premiership titles, four Scottish Cups, and three Scottish League Cups.
Prior to his loan move to the Baggies, Johnston enjoyed a positive experience abroad during the 2022/23 campaign - where he joined top-tier Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes. It was another solid year of contributions for the Glaswegian, who chipped in with five assists and three goals during his time at "The Conquerers".
He made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland in March 2023, and netted his maiden goal for his nation in a European qualifier against Gibraltar in June 2023.
