Hailing from the North East, Matt began his Albion adventure in the U16s level over the 2023/24 season. 

Signing as a first-year scholar that following summer, Crowther immediately went out with Richard Beale's 21s group for pre-season in Slovenia - gaining early exposure to the quality he'd need to match to reach that level in the future. 

A towering presence, Matt is a left-footed central midfielder with the capability to play box-to-box down the middle of the field. 

Still, his height has also lended itself to playing at centre-back in the scholarship group during the 24/25 term, but mainly, Crowther is keen on keeping the game ticking over with his passing, and will hope to gain exposure in the PL2 side as soon as he can.
