Bio

Mason returned to Albion under Carlos Corberán on loan from top-flight team Everton.

The defender spent the second half of the 2018/19 campaign at The Hawthorns and became the Baggies’ 11th and final arrival of the 2024/25 summer transfer window.

Holgate, who can be deployed centrally or as a right-back, has made 137 top-flight appearances.

Hailing from Doncaster, Mason came through the youth ranks at fellow South Yorkshire outfit Barnsley, breaking into their first team in 2014 - making his senior debut against his home town club in Sky Bet League One in December that year.

Holgate's promise caught the eye of his current parent club in Merseyside, where he moved to permanently in the summer 0f 2015. The following term, Mason made his Premier League debut against Spurs in 2016 - but a three-year wait followed for his first goal for the Toffees, which came against Watford in the EFL Cup.

Loan spells followed between 2019-2024, starting with the Baggies before spells elsewhere in the Championship and the lower part of England's elite tier, with Southampton and Sheffield United handing the versatile defender an opportunity.

Mason made his second Baggies debut as a substitute against Cardiff City in October 2024, and used his opportunity in B71 to play senior international football with Jamaica despite representing England at U20 and 21 level. His debut for the Reggae Boyz was a memorable one, coming off the bench to help his nation to a 2-0 Concacaf Nations League triumph over Nicaragua in October.
