The Albion Foundation together with WBA has a rich history of supporting inclusivity and diversity and we are pleased to announce that we are partnering with our LGBTQ+ Supporter Group Proud Baggies to deliver inclusive football sessions.
The LGBTQ+ community is under-represented in participation in sport, particularly football, and players often face both real and perceived barriers to engaging with clubs and sports teams.
Proud Baggies quote "The Albion Foundation has a long-standing relationship with Proud Baggies and shares our values of inclusion and belonging so we are delighted that we are working together to provide such an important opportunity for the local LGBTQ+ community. We began discussions about this pre-pandemic so it's great that we are finally able to start now. Sport and physical activity supports mental health and wellbeing as well as being a great way to meet new people".
The sessions, with a professional coach, will take place every Friday from 7pm to 8pm at the WBA Community Sports Hall, Halfords Lane, B71 4LG from Friday 8th July.
All abilities, ages and genders are welcome including allies. Anyone wanting to play football in an inclusive, friendly and welcoming environment should come along
